Triforce Crest Animation

Recently I've been playing Windwaker again, and the nice art inspired me to make the Triforce crest from the game. I kinda like how it turned out so I thought I'll share it with you guys here too. :)

Workflow
I started out making the vector design and raster background in Fireworks, then I turned the crest to 3D in Illustrator; finally I put it all together and animated the crest in Flash.

I plan to make a workflow tutorial out of the Fireworks part eventually, 'cause it was the most fun part. :)

O.o this is gonna sound reallllyy weird but for some reason that reminds me of the crest used by the terrans (in starcraft broodwar) in their ending cinematic. I have no idea why but when I saw it I thought of that.

Randomness aside, I do like it =D

Maybe the wings? I haven't seen the Terran crest, but these kind of stylistic wings are used in military style deco. Glad you like it. :)

Thanks Screwball - I'm glad you think so. ^_^ I still see plenty of space for improvement; there is a slight jitter in the loop, and the crest looks a bit bland with no texture at all. But I too like how it turned out with these tools.

My ideal goal is to make something like this in true 3D, with textures so real you could almost feel the material, and light reflecting from multiple sources and casting real shadows. If I'll ever have the chance to learn 3dsMax... ;)
