~Prologue~
A white plume arrow shot through the darkness of the night, marking the maiden for sacrifice.
In that instant, a horrific roar was heard through out the field, shaking the earth as well as shaking every one's hearts with endless fear.
The sacrificial maiden bravely stood in front of her home, marked with the plume arrow. She took one last glance over the village as she stepped inside her home, knowing she will never be saved from the awful hands of destiny.
She left the village, braving her fate as she neared the entrance of the moon cave. The roar of the monster sounded again, weak with fear, she fell to her knees when she was suddenly gripped and taken within the fearful depths of the monster's home.
Awaking under a bell, she saw it's eyes, it's body, and it's heads. Eight heads for eight elements, it's body like a serpent with golden armor and it's eyes filled with a million curses from those who have died a thousand years attempting to slay the dark creature.
The Lord of Darkness was awake, and here was she, surrounded by its eight other heads...
"You are truly a maiden of beauty," Growled one of the heads, "Something about you is different to the other maidens.."
"Yes.. There is something different about me, and I will give you three turns to guess why I am so." She stood up, holding three fingers to the head in front of her, marked with the symbol of fire.
"You seem untouched. Maybe that is why?" Asked the head crowned with light
"No." She answered, putting a finger down, keeping a brave stare into the eyes of the creature still in front of her, "Next?"
"You smell like cherry blossoms," Sighed the one with a leaf on its head, "It's very rare we to have some one smell like that."
"Thank you... And your guess would be?"
"Those peasants that make perfume"
"No," She put another finger down,"One more."
The fire lord inspected every part of her, his gigantic head, lifted away from the small, tender woman, whose skin emitted a beautiful pure glow under the light of the full moon.
"I see you are a meal to be savored," He said, looking at her carefully, "Pure-hearted individuals always taste better than normal peasants."
"What am I then?" She smiled, knowing that they'd never get it right.
"A priestess"
"No." She put the last finger down, lowered her arm and looked at the beast, lowering it's head to face her closely once more, "I am.. A god"
From that moment, a strong light had burst from her body and eliminated the creature completely, letting out one last roar, which was heard through out the fields.
The floating platform returned to the ground, surrounded by the pool of blood from all eight heads of the creature. Weak from letting out all of her power, she knelt down under the bell, fatigued.
"I... will not let you continue to rule over our world.." She breathed, as she summoned the last of her remaining light, "You will never be able to return, even though I may no longer be here to guard, my powers will not wane to keep you away." The light gave birth to a sword, which she placed under the bell where she stood.
The light she has emitted from the moonlight has started to fade...
Back in the village, the villagers had all wondered why it was so quiet all of a sudden... The elder stood in front of the village entrance, where a white wolf had tumbled its way in...
Its body was weak, and its eyes were staring away into space, the elder knelt down before the wolf and gave it a gentle pat. The wolf whimpered, as if it was afraid to die.
"You are a true hero.. We shall never forget this.." The elder's hand closed the wolfs eyes, and felt his heart break to see its soul fly away as it took one last breath...
"Oh my.." said his wife, kneeling down to the fallen wolf, "did this wolf slay the monster?"
"yes, i believe it did.."
"Oh dear.."
"But it must have been too late to save her"
Every one in the village had gathered around the wolf, in tears for they had lost a hero mistaken for a minion under the dark monster, and for the loss of another maiden.
In tribute to the wolf, they made a stone grave for the creature, looking out towards the whole of the village as if keeping a watchful eye on every one, and everything..
Peace has now been granted to the world....
