I have a question

Upto what point is considered "Mature" in the art forum? I'm planning on submitting my story for NaNoWriMo here on this forum, but I'm afraid that it might... go and over-do some things a bit. You see, the themes for this story is going to be generally dark, and a lot of so-called "mature" themes may appear as well.

I'd like someone to give me a clear standard on things, if one would be kind enough to.

For the actually specifics, you'd be best off asking one of the mods (probably rose would be best).

But the obvious ones those are no excessive romance scenes, no detailed gore scenes or elaborated death sequences. Also an excessive amount of cussing probably wouldn't be the best. If you worried it may go over the top, maybe let a mod see it first and get them to give a second opinion on the matter?

I think because this forum has a lot of young members it's probably better to keep things 'PG' at best. Pretty much nothing graphic in terms of gore, romance and violence. I mean use your discretion, if you had kids around the age of 8 - 12 what would you feel comfortable in them reading?

If you're really worried about it you could first PM the story to the mods, Rose being admin is probably best but a discussion between the active mods might also be ok (we all have differing opinions on these kinds of things so it would be good to get a few different opinions on it). If you don't know the most current active mods are myself, SiamJai, Pirate_Foxes and Rosedragon.

Personally because of the quality of your Halloween entry I would love to read your story :) Ultimately though it would be up to Rose.

Maybe there should be some sort of mature filter. So that like.. there would be a popup when you visit a mature content page, and the popup will say:

THIS PAGE HAS MATURE CONTENT.

Then there would be 2 choices.

1. Go to the mature page even if you are low age
2. Leave the page you are going to enter.

Or something like that.

Even though that is a good idea Love, the problem is we all know kids like to get into mischief and visit things they are not supposed to. The thing is sometimes mature contents will scare kids enough that they can have nightmares or develop a fear of something that could be problematic (although watching scary flicks as a kid never bothered me, I know for a fact it has bothered some people that still have fears about the movie 'Alien'). I think it is probably better to just leave out the mature contents, there are really not that many people over the age of 15 on the forums to begin with, so let's just keep it G-PG.

The imagination can sometimes be the scariest place of all Sweet ;D I still remember some of the scary stories I read when I was young that frightened me at the time, but yea PM Rose and she can decide whether it needs discussing or approval/disapproval.

hi sweet_love! Basically we don't want mature (sex) content here. Something like 'he invited her to his house tonight. New day...' is fine, so do 'they kiss so long and deep' but not further than those. I think this is on PG15 rule.

As for blood and gore, while (especially this halloween) I put up some scary and disturbing games, I make sure they are not overly detailed and give a warning first that it is not for under 15 years / need parental advisory. This again is a PG15.

By the way, I've decided not to pm people, since I am too lazy. Besides, I'll make sure not too much mature contents go in there, so don't worry.

But if you are sensitive against angst, suicide, death, murder, drugs and minor themes of sex, don't read it. It's going to be PG rated, sure, but it still isn't going to be very cheerful or clean.

Anyways, those of you who think that saw this story before: It's from Redemption from fanfiction.net. And I'm writing the "Destruction" route for it. And I've got permission, and all that stuff, so no worries. Still, give all original credit to HyoShin.
