I'm not sure if this is a problem, but its kinda annoying.
People from meebo or played Bunni for a couple minutes are entering the Bunni Chat and spamming around with unwelcome words, I think we should try to stop this.

And how are we supposed to do that?

Andre said in the future he might change the chat host to something other then meebo i think. You don't really need to do anything about them just ignore them and they'll go away.

Most of the Meebo people I've seen don't have an attention span more than 2 seconds. If someone starts spaming about something, ask them to please stop spamming. This usually works and they will calm down and join in on the conversation.

Now if that doesn't work, and ignoring them doesn't work, just warn them. Right click on their name and click "warn." When someone warns someone else it is visible to the whole chatroom. If someone is spaming, just gang up on them with warns. (You only have a limited amount.) They should get the idea after a while.

If all else fails, right click on their name and click "block." This will keep you from getting messages from them.
I really do wish there was something we could do about the abusive people who just join the chatroom and start badmouthing everyone in it. And then LEAVE!

Warning is useless, it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyway I just heard what samurai said too, so I guess it won't be a problem in the future.

Could it be possible that we make the room private or something so that spammers can't get in?

Currently people that are chatting and have no idea what Bunni is and are spamming I call them Meebians. Since, most of them come from meebo.com. Okay not anymore, now they come from bunni, they just played bunni for only a couple minutes and get tired. So they start to spam.

The easiest fix might very well be what I proposed in another thread, http://bunnibunni.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9819&postcount=19 . It is a chat client that is integrated with the vBulletin Database, and has an extended Moderator's Control Panel, so anyone not welcome could be banned in any way necessary.

I think banning people would be VERY excellent but I also believe that having an open chat room that people can just SIGN INTO without signing up is also very important.

To directly implement the forum with a chat room would take a *LOT* of work. But if we moved to a more private chat service then we could ban IP addresses and have spam and swear filters.

Right now though, I think that the current Meebo chat room is using Meebo's bandwidth so that might be best for the moment. :)

It would not be that much of work, because the chat client is built for it. :)

Oh I didn't know they already made something like that...

>_>

Does the chat require you to sign up for the forums first? Can you sign up though just the chatroom client?

There is a guest feature that can be turned on if the host would like that. :)

I'd say go for Meebo for now.. it's economically the best choice and we DO have the block button I guess..

It seems to say that the person who made it while logged in to meebo, is the Moderator.

I didn't mind at first but now people are impersonating other people and its getting really aggravating.....

Impersonating is not a big problem, spam, advertising, and talks about sex are bad.

Chat for vbulettin sounds flexible and require less user registration. But i think andre is super busy atm.

Actually, I think that since Andre made it, Andre should be the Moderator, that's how meebo works I think.

Well, as long as he sees it at some point, he can make a decision. We are not in a hurry now, are we? :)
